Divisional Aftersales Director

OTE £90,000, Plus Company Benefits and Company Car

Over recent years our Multi-franchise division (Peugeot, Hyundai, Toyota and Volvo) has grown to become one of our real success stories. We are now looking to appoint a talented and driven individual to head-up the aftersales function within this division as Aftersales Director. As a Group we are performing very well in aftersales with like-for-like revenue growth of 7.0% delivering along-side a 6.4% growth in gross profit. While aftersales represents only 8.6% of Group revenues, it accounts for 42.2% of gross profit and further growth in this area is a fundamental part of our future strategy. Our Multi-franchise division consist of 18 locations from Paisley to Exeter and last year sold 165,000 labour hours (up 7.9% year on year). It too will see further growth over the coming years as we further expand through acquisition.

Reporting directly into the Operational Director this role forms part of a divisional team of 5 who together set and drive the direction and strategy for the dealership network. Within this role you will provide your Operational Director with expert aftersales support and take the lead in relation to reviewing technological changes and manufacturer initiatives in relation to their impact on the divisions operational performance and to maximise the opportunity they present.

It is expected that this role has significant operational engagement with the aftersales management team who will come to you for support, coaching and direction. As such the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead and develop the capability of individuals and of a wider management team. Developing a high-performing team will be one of your primary leadership objectives. Equally, a track record of successfully managing change is essential as the Motor Retail sector is moving through an exciting period of significant technological transformation. The increasing complexity of vehicles and innovation in engine and vehicle management systems, has contributed to an increase in the mix of warranty related work undertaken in the Groups service departments and reflects another strength of our franchise retailer business model. Therefore, the effective and innovative use of digital tools, technological solutions and data is now a major consideration for the future success and growth of any business in our sector and you will need to be able to embrace this to be successful in this role.

We are looking for you to be able to demonstrate a successful track record in a similar role, ideally within a multi-franchised motor retailer. You must be steadfastly customer centric and be able to develop and deliver tactics that deliver long-term customer relationships. Experience dealing with manufacturers and contributing at a strategic level to thinking and decision making is essential as you will be the link between the Group and the OEM on aftersales.

This is a UK wide role and we are therefore flexible in relation to the location of the successful candidate.
