Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to work in the eBay sales department in one of our most vibrant business units within Vertu Motors plc: Aceparts. Aceparts is a fast-growing, quick paced e-commerce business, which is based from a central operational facility in Sittingbourne, Kent.


This is a significant opportunity for the right candidate. This role also affords a brilliant entry point into the high-growth environment of Vertu Motors.

The role is to act as an eBay category manager for Aceparts, focusing primarily on the eBay marketplace and offering support to other category managers and vertical managers, as and when required. This role will be focused on tools only, and will mean you will work on supply chain and pricing, right the way through to listing the products and supporting the after sales process.


The role is responsible for all tool sales on eBay and there will be a large emphasis on the sales (in line with the financial plan), and development of the category to ensure future growth can be achieved, across UK and International channels.


The day-to-day duties of the category manager will be:
•To provide relevant and accurate management information, whether that be financial, operational or marketing related, to sales and operational colleagues.
•Deliver timely and accurate sales reports and marketplace forecasts
•Ensure new products are launched, as and when they become available
•Add brands to our portfolio
•Keep existing products up-to-date
•Maintain active products by way of pricing negotiations
•Assisting the marketing team in executing our marketing strategy
•Leadership and management of the tool categories
•Growth and future proofing strategy, both implement and execution

The role would suit an ambitious and energetic self-starter who will thrive in an entrepreneurial atmosphere and values having a variety of work and business issues to cover. They should also be a brilliant collaborator and communicator, and be passionate about the role that sales specialists can play in helping drive business growth.


The candidate should be well versed in working with large amounts of data and providing in-depth, meaningful analysis of this data. The role will therefore require exceptional IT and data skills.


The ideal candidate must have proven experience in selling on eBay, and ideally history in selling tools.
