Our Gateshead based inhouse development & digitisation team is looking for a highly motivated, proactive, team-orientated junior developers. You'll have the chance to move fast, deploy frequently, and have a real impact on our portfolio of approaching 15 sites and internal web-based systems. The role will also entail working with RPA scripting (robotic process automation.) Our aim is to help you develop into a multi-talented full stack developer.
The successful candidate will work with teams delivering complex projects covering internal systems, our website portfolio and in hybrid RPA projects. During stakeholder engagements, you will form part of a team of professionals and perform activities such as technical analysis, development and testing, supported by high quality documentation.
Through projects, ongoing training and development we will help the successful candidate to develop specific areas of deep expertise for which they will become recognised. This will provide the opportunity to drive development and take increasing responsibility for projects and initiatives.
Main Duties of the role will be:
•Create scalable functionality using a modular toolbox approach for both websites, intranet systems and 3rd party systems via API and RPA.
•Interpreting and helping to write requirement briefs, specifications, wireframes and designs
•Helping us in shaping our industry leading solutions and processes.
To be successful in this role we are looking for you have experience in the below areas:
•Strong HTML and CSS (SASS/Compass is our chosen pre-compiler)
•Mobile / Responsive web design / Git
Experience in the below would be preferred but is not essential:
•Exposure to SQL database / Azure / AWS
•Understanding of SMACSS/BEM
•Familiar with Agile/Scrum

Experience in the automotive sector is not essential but it will be important to demonstrate some knowledge of, or interest in the sector.
