Vertu Motors is the fifth largest automotive retailer in the UK with a network of 146 sales outlets across the UK. Its dealerships operate predominantly under the Bristol Street Motors, Vertu, Farnell and Macklin Motors brand names. We have an exciting opportunity to lead the finance function of our Ace Parts business in Sittingbourne.
This is a significant opportunity for the right candidate. This will provide the you with a great variety and scope of work and this role also affords a brilliant entry point into the high-growth environment of Vertu Motors.
Ace Parts is a fast-growing e-commerce business which is based from a central warehouse facility in Sittingbourne, Kent.
You will be tasked with working closely with the management team of Ace Parts and will have a very close working relationship with the operational management. The role will be a very visible one and there will be a lot of interaction with the executive directors of the overall Group also.
As our Accountant, you will be responsible for two direct reports and there will be a large emphasis on the coaching and development of these individuals too. There is a lot of opportunity in Ace Parts and you will be expected to play an active part in helping drive the growth of the business and be a champion in the business for better process and efficiency.
The day-to-day duties of your role will include:
- To provide relevant and accurate management information, whether that be financial, operational or marketing related, to operational personnel to help them make effective management decisions.
- Deliver timely and accurate management accounts, cash and profit forecasts and budgets to Vertu PLC timescales.
- Responsibility for the governance and control processes in the business in line with Vertu plc requirements.
- Ownership of the development and data integrity of the management information systems within the businesses
- Leadership and management of the small accounts teams.

You should be strong technically, whilst at the same time be fastidious about the application of good financial governance and process. You should also be a brilliant collaborator and communicator, and be passionate about the role that finance can play in helping drive business growth.
We would like you to be well versed in working with large amounts of data and providing in-depth, meaningful analysis of this data.
The role will therefore require exceptional IT and data skills. The successful candidate should also welcome the opportunity to join and be part of a wider group and want to become actively involved, in time, in other parts of the Group as their career develops.
