BMW Motorrad Exeter Technician Named Divisional Colleague Of The Year

Damian Smith has been named as Motorcycle Division Colleague of the Year at the annual Vertu Masters Awards.

The Masters Awards are held annually and recognise the best non-management colleagues from across the Group working in a variety of roles.

Damian, a Master Technician at BMW Motorrad Exeter, was named as winner of the Motorcycle Division Colleague of the Year against competition from Vertu’s network of seven motorcycle dealerships spread across the country.

Those seven sites run from the BMW Motorrad dealership in Exeter as far north as Sunderland, and includes dealerships representing both Honda and Ducati.

Having only joined Vertu in early 2025, Damian was praised for the immediate impact he has made at the dealership on Matford Park Road, with particular emphasis on his dedication, teamwork and leadership.

Damian was also praised the fact he consistently goes above and beyond in his role, with his positive attitude helping to boost team morale across the Exeter dealership.

Damian Smith said: “I’m hugely proud to even be nominated for this award, so to be named the winner is fantastic.

“It’s nice to be recognised for the work that I do, but this award is also a reflection of the wider team at the dealership as it wouldn’t have been possible without them.”

Robert Forrester, Vertu Chief Executive, said: “Damian’s nomination was a clear indication of the impact he has had on the BMW Motorrad Exeter dealership, and he richly deserves this accolade.

“The way in which he supports those around him, and his desire to always provide customers with the best possible experience, is exactly what we want from our colleagues and he should be rightly proud at being named as our Motorcycle Division Colleague of the Year.”

Alongside picking up his Masters Award trophy, Damian will also be invited to attend a special Long Service Event later in the year alongside fellow Masters Award winners.
