Mazda Sheffield Customer In Seventh Heaven With Latest MX-5 Purchase
Vertu Mazda Sheffield is celebrating the sale of a seventh Mazda MX-5 to the same customer who turned to the award-winning sports car to deal with a life-changing personal loss.
Mrs Livesey purchased her first MX-5 from Mazda Sheffield 16 years ago following the death of her husband, taking the decision to embrace life to the fullest and realise a long-held dream of owning a sportscar.
That led her to visit Mazda Sheffield to start a relationship with one of the most iconic cars of recent decades, with the MX-5 having enjoyed huge success around the world since being launched in Japan back in 1989.
More than 1.5 million MX-5s have been sold across the globe, making it the most popular two-seater convertible sports car in history, with a loyal following attracted by its timeless design, responsive handling and first-class driving experience.
Having instantly fallen in love with the MX-5 when she purchased her first model, Mrs Livesey has continued to return to the same dealership whenever the time has come to upgrade her vehicle, and recently walked through the doors of Vertu Mazda Sheffield’s new home on Attercliffe Road to purchase her next car.
Her seventh MX-5 – a top of the range Homura in aero grey – will be one of the last examples of the car to hit the road in the UK fitted with the 2.0-litre engine that led to it being dubbed the ‘definitive affordable sports car’ by Autocar magazine.
Mazda recently announced that the MX-5 will only be offered with a 1.5 litre engine from January 2027 as a result of revised emissions regulations.
