Plymouth Argyle Fan Enjoys Exclusive Experience Thanks To Vertu

A lucky Plymouth Argyle supporter enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take her place in the Club’s official squad photo at Home Park thanks to Vertu’s ongoing partnership with the team.

Zoe Purnell was the lucky winner of a competition organised by Vertu’s Renault LCV Centre on Ridgeway that offered an Argyle fan the chance to appear in the official team photo.

It marked the second successive season that Vertu has provided members of the local community with the opportunity to be part of the official team photo, with three students from Marine Academy Plymouth having been chosen to appear last season through the school’s ‘Make Their Day’ initiative.

Having been named the winner of the competition, Zoe was joined by her daughter Arianna for the trip to Home Park, where the pair joined manager Tom Cleverley and his squad for the official photograph.

First team coach Kevin Nancekivell arranged for Arianna to have a photo with her favourite player Alex Mitchell, the current Supporters' Player of the Season, whilst the pair also had the opportunity to see Ronan Curtis being interviewed ahead of the home game with Barnsley, which Argyle went on to win 3-0.

Zoe Purnell said: “I couldn’t believe it when I got the message to say that I’d won the competition and the whole experience of going down to Home Park and taking part in the photo was awesome. Sitting alongside the first team and then getting a copy of the picture afterwards was a real highlight, and something that Arianna and I won’t forget.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for how much they made us feel welcome, and particular thanks to Nance [Nancekivell] for making sure that Arianna got a photograph with Alex as he’s her favourite player. It really made her day!”

Keira Barkell, Head of Commercial at Plymouth Argyle FC, said: “Our partnership with Vertu is about more than just branding on a shirt, it’s about working together to have a meaningful impact on the local community.

“Following the success of last season, which saw students from Marine Academy Plymouth take part in the official team photo, it was fantastic to be able to work with Vertu to offer one of our fans the same unique experience this year.

“Seeing Zoe and Arianna at Home Park with smiles on their faces is what moments like this are all about, and we look forward to continuing to work with Vertu to create more memorable experiences for supporters and the wider community throughout the season.”
