Vertu marches on to support military car sales

Vertu Motors plc has entered into an innovative partnership to enable more serving military personnel to purchase a new or used car.

Vertu Military Car Sales (www.vertumilitarycarsales.co.uk), has teamed up with Close Brothers Military Services, which provides a range of specialist financial services to serving or retired UK Military personnel and their families, to provide competitive terms and rates by working closely with the manufacturer partners and applying generous discounts.

In the past, those in the military may have encountered difficulties accessing mainstream credit, due in part to moving regularly and not being able to build up a good credit rating. However, with Close Brothers Military Services' unique approach to supporting the Armed Forces we are able to offer a flexible service, tailored to suit the military lifestyle.

In addition, a donation will be made on behalf of the purchaser to one of the chosen charities; The Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes, Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, SSAFA, Forces Children's Trust and Care After Combat.

Vertu Military Car Sales will have access to Vertu Motors' Group wide range of new and used vehicles, covering most of the major brands. Vertu Motors plc is the holding company for Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Vertu Honda, Vertu Volkswagen and Farnell Land Rover and Jaguar. Vehicles will be delivered to a local Vertu Motors dealership, or to the customer's home if this is more convenient.

Debbie Lowdon, General Manager of Vertu Military Car Sales said: "We carried out a considerable amount of research before concluding that, working with Close Brothers and the manufacturers, we could offer very competitive rates on the whole range of our quality new and used cars. Armed forces personnel often struggle to finance large purchases, such as a car, due to a lack of available and affordable credit but we did not believe that this was an acceptable situation, and with the support of our partners, have addressed this.

"Customers can also be assured that they will receive the excellent customer service the company prides itself on, ensuring a vehicle and finance package that suits the individual."

James Toft, Managing Director of Close Brothers Military Services said: "We aim to make motor finance accessible to all armed forces personnel and so we are delighted to support this new venture.

"We are excited that Vertu is able to offer such a wide range of vehicles together with our competitive finance offers, designed specifically with the needs of military personnel in mind. Every proposal for finance that we receive is overseen by an experienced underwriter who takes the circumstances of each individual customer into consideration, ensuring a bespoke, tailored service."
